Announcement

Dear St. Martin of Tours Parishioners,

Here is a second Pastor’s Pen to let you know that it is official: Saint Martin of Tours will be renting out the top floor of our school building to become the St. John Paul II Preparatory School’s second campus!

This school was formed in the Fall of 2009 by a very devoted group of homeschool parents who wanted something more for their children’s education.  They wanted to provide an intensive Catholic and Classical education from K through 12 grade in subjects which presented a challenge to many homeschooling parents: subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, Anatomy, Bioethics, Church History, Shakespeare, and so forth.  After ten years they’ve created a thriving school with roughly 100 students attending their current campus at St. Robert Bellarmine Church in St. Charles County.

However, due to their growth and also due to the logistics of geography (students were commuting from South County and even Illinois for example), they decided to open another campus.  I offered the use of our school at a very reasonable rate for the first year, and after two years of consideration, the Board of Directors of the School decided just a few weeks ago that they would open their second campus here, on the St. Martin of Tours campus, beginning the Fall of 2020.

The school is fully supported by the Archbishop and the Archdiocese of St. Louis.  The school is independent and will remain autonomous from the operations of St. Martin of Tours Church.  The school will meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  I am encouraging the students to attend our daily Masses and Adoration. They will also have the use of the fields during the day. Visit their website at https://www.johnpaulprep.org/

My hope is that the collaboration between St. Martin of Tours and JPII will be of benefit to both organizations.  I announce this news, therefore, with great joy!   — FRNW
