There are those who think that animals do not go to heaven.  They say animals are born, live, then die forever.  I asked Daddy about this.  He smiled at me.

“Dashy, only angels and humans can see God face to face.  Only humans and angels can see God, when they die, Dashy!  You will not see God that way.

“(Which also means that only humans and angels can be damned! Oh, how I hope that I and my parishioners do not die in mortal sin!)

“Yet, AS FOR YOU, DASHY, and for every other non-human creature – when you die, you will live forever for all eternity because you will live in God in Whom is contained all that exists because He is Existence Itself. You will be alive, because to live in God is to be alive really and truly.  You will not exist in Him as some mere idea, simulation, or vision, nor as some sentimental wish of mine.  No, you will be filled with dog-life and you will be happy forever, my friend –

[Even happier than I am now? Wag wag!]

“– and all the animals, plants, rocks, mountains and streams – all of you … what God has created, He has created to remain.”

[But, Daddy, I whine, that’s not what the other priests have said!]

I shake my head.  “Oh, Dashy! You will never understand what I am going to say, but you will experience one day what I say: When God says to any creature, ‘Creature be!’ He means, ‘I will you to exist WORLD WITHOUT END! AMEN!’

[Sniff sniff eternal digging happy joy sniff lick.  I love you Daddy and God….]

WOoOOOOF!
