Dear St. Martin of Tours Family,

CALLING FOR NOMINATIONS FOR NEW PARISH COUNCIL MEMBERS.

We are in need of 5 new council members: 3 to fill vacancies, and 2 to replace members who have been on the council for a long time. To nominate someone (or yourself) place your name in the collection basket at mass on any slip of paper with the words, “Nomination for Parish Council.” The Deadline is six weeks from now.

The Parish Council is a representative group of parishioners who prayerfully discuss the needs of the parish community.

Meetings are normally held the fourth Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m.

ST MARTIN CHARIOTEERS

As the parish ages, a new need has developed which I feel we must address: Some of our older parishioners, many of whom are shut-ins who cannot drive, are healthy enough to attend church, yet have no means of reliable transportation. Yes, there is Uber and other like companies, but almost all of our shut-ins don’t have the smartphone savvy to use such ride services.

All of these shut-ins live very close to the church.

Would any of you be able to bring just one shut-in to weekend Mass? You would be performing a very great spiritual work of mercy by doing so.

TIME OFF

I haven’t taken a real break in a while. Therefore, I will be away Monday Sept. 9 to Friday Sept. 13 and Monday Sept. 16 to Friday Sept. 20.
