Dear St. Martin of Tours Family,

I wish to thank those of you who responded so generously to the requests in last week’s Pastor’s Pen. 

My first thank you is to Pat Richardson, who agreed to manage a new prayer chain.  Once Pat get things set up, I am going to put a place on the website where prayers can be submitted. For those who don’t have email, prayers will also be submittable by phone. We will keep you posted.

I also wish to thank those who have pledged to purchase a Star Light for the church interior. Of the 12 that are needed, we already have 5 ½ Stars paid for (yes, you can sponsor ½ a Star – why not?). So there are 6 ½ more Stars to go. Think about it. Soon, I am going to place one Star in the church vestibule for you to examine.

If you have read this far, then I want to thank you, too! These Pastor’s Pens aren’t always that interesting.

Father has yet another request! This is sort of a big one. It has to do will generating income from Hall Rental. At our last Parish Council meeting, when discussing how infrequent the Hall is used on the weekends, one of our members observed, “This Hall is actually really perfect for TRIVIA NIGHTS.” 

What do we need then? I need one of YOU to volunteer to search out / promote / manage to bring Trivia Nights to our parish. What is preferable, I suppose, is someone who knows how to spread the word about such things and someone who really enjoys spreading the word about how perfect Runge Hall is. (Note: I am not asking for someone to organize the Trivia Nights themselves, just someone to bring Trivia Nights into our parish).
