Dear Humans,

Here it is! Perhaps the earliest depiction of dogs in the world: Carvings on the walls of a cave somewhere in the Arabian Peninsula that are from 6000 or 7000 B.C. (The carvings are highlighted in white.) Dogs and humans were clearly meant to be a team! It was about this time that dogs first bred the wild apes to become modern domesticated humans.

The human has been trained to help the dogs hunt for food. Observe how the human is restrained by two leashes at his waist. The two dogs on the right holding the leashes are the human's owners.

Then the dogs bark the command to shoot the arrow. When the human shoots the arrow and kills the prey, the other dogs run to it and eat it for lunch. To prevent the human from running towards the food, the two dogs on the right restrain the human. Only after the dogs have eaten almost everything does the pack bring back enough food for the two lead dogs. After they eat, then whatever scraps are left go to feed the pet human, who is so grateful to us that he rubs our tummies.

Isn't it amazing how, even after 8 or 9 millenia, some things never change?

Woof!
