Dear St. Martin of Tours Family,

We are going to celebrate our 80th anniversary by having a party on Friday November 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Genesis around the corner.  The event will be free to parishioners! Since seating is limited to 200 people, I strongly suggest that if attending such an event will be especially important, that you RSVP as soon as possible by phoning the office at 544-5664.

The event will be special also because it will mark the end of an era: After 80 years of service to our parish, the Athletic Association is to close down officially as of November 11, 2019.  Which means that our party will also be a tribute to all of you who have been involved in the Athletic Association of the years.  The party will be sponsored and paid for by the Athletic Association

You may be wondering: What will become of our Athletic Fields, our Cornhole Tournaments, and our annual Golfing Classic?

First, our Athletic Fields.  I will not allow our Athletic Fields to be neglected.  There will come a time in the future when young families will move again into our parish. And when that happens, I want to be certain we can provide athletic fields for them. It is for this same reason that I and my predecessors have kept the school building up to date.

Here is what we came up with.  St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Parish has offered to maintain our fields in exchange for free use of our athletic fields for their practices.  SMMA has even agreed to resurface our fields as part of this agreement, which is in my estimation is a very generous proposition.

Second and Third, Cornholes and Golf: We will continue with our Cornhole Tournaments and our SMT Golf Classic will continue as well.

One last bit of good news: We have rented out our school building to Ambleside Christian Academy, a homeschooling academy which will meet once or twice a week in our school building.

When you see young people at the school in September, please grant them a warm welcome!

In Christ,

Father Waldman Signature
