Divine Mercy Sunday 2022

Dear St. Martin of Tours Family and Friends,

Happy Easter! And Happy Divine Mercy Sunday!

Jesus WorriorHere is a rather remarkable statue of Jesus, a Lithuanian devotion of “Jesus the Worrier.”

Could Jesus worry? St. Paul tells us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6). St. Peter tells us, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).
And Our Lord tells us, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27).
So did Jesus actually worry? Certainly he felt fear. Certainly he felt anxiety. Even so, we also know that Jesus is with us in our worrying and, since he loves us so much, he carries our worries with him to transform them into peace.

Let us cast our worries, therefore, upon our friends in Heaven. Our Lord Jesus and His Mother (and Joseph, too), will remain present in every event, every assault on peace, every moment of suffering that comes to their children on Earth. All of Heaven is united to Earth in every attack against it.

Our Jesus has a beautiful plan for humanity, a beautiful plan for his children’s existence on Earth. There are so many wonderful things to see and experience, to enjoy and love.

So maintain focus on what is being created every day for you, instead of what you fear might be destroyed or taken away. If you do, you will become full of hope, and your contact with Heaven will remain peacefully uninterrupted. Your time with Jesus, Mary, the Three Divine Person, and all the saints in prayer will bring delight in everything around you, and being with your Heavenly Family will help prevent that anxious curiosity and dread of those things which, whether real or imagined, are nowhere near you.

REMAIN IN THE HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY.
